Navigator Club Letter
Dear Air Show Supporter & Fan,
As you know, Springfield Air Rendezvous is a 501(3)c, not-for-profit organization produced by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. SAR's main goal is to promote and educate the public about all forms of aviation. SAR is proud to sponsor several Aviation Scholarship programs at LLCC. To date, SAR has contributed in excess of $700,000.00 to our local community and assisted over 50 students with approximately $65,000.00 going toward aviation education funding.
With this in mind, the Springfield Air Rendezvous Board of Directors invite you to please help support the air show by becoming a Navigator Club Member. Every Navigator Club member will receive a set of 2006 SAR commemorative license plates and a quality golf shirt with the 2006 SAR logo. The license plates can be displayed on your vehicle for 60 days prior to the air show. The display period is from April 26 thru June 25.
Springfield Air Rendezvous is an affordable family-oriented weekend of entertainment providing fun and excitement for folks of all ages. The 2006 Springfield Air Rendezvous will feature the US Jet Aerobatic Team as well as many other outstanding civilian and military performers.
Other weekend activities will include the Famous Friday Night Hanger Party with a beautiful night air show and featured Family Viewing Area. Hanger Parties will be on Friday, June 23 & Saturday, June 24 from 7 to midnight at 1st Class Air's Hangar Two. Don't forget to mark your calendar for our PreVous Party downtown on Washington Street on May 26th from 7 to midnight featuring local rock bands. We thank those of you that have been a member of the Navigator Club in the past and we invite those of you that have not to join us this year. The Navigator Club is a fun way to help promote the air show and provide support for this outstanding community event.
To become a Navigator Club Member, simply complete the order form and return it with payment and a copy of your current Illinois Vehicle Registration Form and Driver's License Number. We are only authorized to receive two hundred sets of plates, so place your order now! Please note the nominal mailing fee to be added to your order if mailing is required. Otherwise, you will be notified by phone when your package is ready for pickup from the air show office located at Capital Airport. Springfield Air Rendezvous is a not-for-profit event produced by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and many other volunteer groups and individuals throughout the community. Proceeds above operational expenses from this event benefit local charities. Hundreds of thousands of dollars has been donated to not-for-profits and local charities throughout the history of this event. All food, beverage and souvenir booths are staffed by not-for-profit groups and do benefit from their sales. Each year, SAR sponsors several Aviation Scholarship Funds at LLCC.
